THE CHALLENGE
The International Theatres Observatory is formed by: the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya, Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona, Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Granada, Ècole National Supérieur d’Architecture Nantes, Ècole National Supérieur d’Architecture Paris-Malaquais, Beuth Hoschule für Technik Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin y la Faculdade Arquitectura da Universidade de Lisboa.
The International Theatres Observatory is a cluster and a research group formed by universities and European research centers, led by the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya. The main work lines of the I.T.O. are the creation of theatrical cartographies in leading cities, the recovery of the memory of the theatres at risk of disappearing, the technical presentation of functional plans of theatres and the evolution of new space environments for the theatric activity.
The I.T.O. needed a cluster and a 2.0 platform to disseminate in the web all the European scenic spaces, in more than 10 cities, and a virtual networking space for all the research teams of each university.
THE SOLUTION
lDk solves the creation of a virtual cluster, as a result of the need of sharing a meeting point for a wide and multidisciplinary research team. At the same time, it allows the clear exhibition of the multimedia content over cartographic bracket and audiovisual and multimedia files.
THE RESULT
The platform created for lDk for the I.T.O. presents a rich, multimedia, historic and current information of European scenic spaces, organized by cities, periods and formal typology. Information in constant growth and evolution, adapted to the needs and characteristics of each of the work teams that develops the research.
